Following a year-long hiatus from the spotlight, Austin Powers star Mike Myers showed up to the 49th American Film Instituteโs Life Achievement Award Gala in Los Angeles wearing a gray buzz cut as opposed to his signature shaggy brown hair. The actor looked good in his black two-piece suit, which he accompanied with a white shirt and black bowtie.
The ceremony marks Mikeโs first event attendance in a year, making his presence a delightful one indeed. The 60-year-old appeared welcoming as he stopped to pose with fans while making his way into the Dolby Theatre. He also wore a mask upstage and took it off to reveal his hardly-seen face before giving a speech.

Mikeโs last on-screen appearance was for David O. Russellโs Amsterdam in 2022. He also starred in the Netflix series The Pentaverate in the same year before withdrawing from the spotlight. There were rumors of a fourth installment of Austin Powers. That said, the film icon said he can โneither confirm nor deny the existence or non-existence of such a project, should it exist or not existโ on a May 2022 episode of The Jess Cagle Show. “Non-confirmed confirmation confirmation,โ he quipped.

The actor has enjoyed his private life with his wife Kelly Tisdale and their three childrenโ Spike, Sunday, and Paulina. True to his fears, the episode โYou Mock Meโ did not really appeal to the audience, however, it introduced a version of him that fans would come to love for the next six years on SNL and Austin Powers.
