Madonna had a bacterial infection in June, which affected her original tour schedule. The Queen of Pop is now back on the road but confessed to not being completely herself since the life-threatening illness. It has been over seven days since the tour began, and Madonna still has several gigs ahead.
While performing in Antwerp, Belgium, the singer recently recounted her ordeal at the ICU while admitting she has not fully recovered. “I must tell you, I don’t feel very well right now. But I can’t complain because I’m alive,” she told the crowd. “Thank God for my children and all of you, and all of your love and support. I really appreciate it.”
‘It’s a miracle’
Madonna put on an incredible show last night. She said she wasn’t feeling well. It’s hard not to wonder if she’s really not well though, pushing through with the tour so soon after her illness. I hope she and her business people are taking good care of her. pic.twitter.com/FtboL4oqwD

The “Material Girl” singer noted it was a miracle that she recovered at all, mainly because the health scare reminded her of her mother, who died at 33. “I suddenly had sympathy and empathy for my mother about how lonely she must have felt in the hospital, knowing that she wasn’t going to live. And I was given another chance,” she said as she placed a hand on her chest.

She expressed her gratitude to her mother once again in a clip posted to social media by a fan. “It’s a f**king miracle that I’m here right now. My mother, God bless her, she must be watching over me, she said, ‘Girl, it’s not your time to go.’” she added.
Fans react to Madonna’s speech
The Celebration tour is set to continue into 2024, with many dates already sold out. Although Madonna seems quite strong enough to see it through, her fans ask that she prioritize her health. “Please take care of yourself, Madonna,” a fan wrote on X, formerly Twitter.
Others praised her for her wonderful performances despite not being in the best of health. “I’m impressed that Madonna has played all four London shows. I was so worried,” another added. After completing the Europe leg of her tour in December, North America will be next, starting off in Brooklyn, New York.
