It’s Marilyn Monroe!
One of the most legendary movie costumes of all time, this white dress and scene transcends generations. Since the release of The Seven Year Itch (1955) this iconic movie moment in which Marilyn Monroe stands over the steaming grate in the famous white dress has been replicated and parodied innumerable amounts of times. The white dress designed by William Travilla was kept by the designer after Marilyn Monroe’s death, eventually bought by Debbie Reynolds, and in 2011 was purchased for over 4 million dollars in an auction.
