Madame Alexander is a brand of American collectible dolls introduced in 1923.  The first “collectible” dolls based on a licensed character – Scarlett O’Hara from the book and movie Gone with the Wind.  What do you remember about playing with Alexander Dolls?

    I had quite a few of Madam Alexander Story Book Dolls, and loved them. I remember the boxes being unique also and each one different. The dolls were to look at and not play with which still doesn’t make any sense to me, I let my daughter play with her dolls.
