Since the introduction of Crayola drawing crayons by Binney & Smith in 1903, more than two hundred distinctive colors have been produced in a wide variety of assortments. The table below represents all of the colors found in regular Crayola assortments from 1903 to the present. Since the introduction of fluorescent crayons in the 1970s, the standard colors have been complemented by a number of specialty crayon assortments.
The Pennsylvania-based arts and crafts company will hold an event in Times Square on Friday to officially banish a crayon from its internationally sold 24-count boxes, Lehigh Valley Live reported Monday.
While Crayola has retired colors in the past, the company said it’s previously avoided parting ways with any shades contained its iconic 24-count packs.
For the first time in its 100-year history, Crayola is retiring a color from it’s 24-count box. That’s right. They are retiring a color. Erasing it from the color bank. Sending it into the crayon black hole. Except Crayola isn’t saying yet which crayon is getting kicked out of the box. What color would you take out?
