Vintage Blow Dryer Flip N Style by Panasonic. This little orange gadget is a working 1972 Panasonic Flip’n Style Blow Dryer. It measures 5 1/2″ x 3 1/2″ basically fitting in the palm of your hand. It’s selling point was that you could fit it in your purse. Convenient in case you needed a quick touch up blow dry on your “wings” between classes or after cheerleading practice.
Panasonic ran an unusual ad for the Flip N Style in a 1972 edition of Teen Magazine. (shown in the 2nd photo) Part of the copy from the ad reads: “Of course it dries your hair if you happen to think that hair is fashionable. But it’s also a nice replacement for your teddy bear. It comes in three terrific colors to go with any bedspread. And it doesn’t just sit around like your old teddy.”
