Many fans still best remember Lee Meriwether for stepping into the role of Catwoman in the 1966 Batman feature film starring Adam West and Burt Ward. Although Julie Newmar had originally become closely associated with the character on television, Meriwether brought her own elegance and playful energy to the role, particularly through her portrayal of the disguised Soviet reporter Miss Kitka.

The actress also made a memorable appearance on Star Trek during the series’ third season, playing the tragic character Losira in one of the show’s most emotional episodes. Her ability to leave a lasting impression even in guest-starring roles helped make her one of television’s most recognizable performers during the era.

The actress later introduced herself to an entirely new generation of audiences when she played Lily Munster in The Munsters Today, a revival of the classic sitcom that surprisingly outlasted the original series. According to Remind Magazine, her portrayal remained faithful to the spirit of the original character while still fitting comfortably into the updated late-1980s setting.
