Demi Moore Shares Empowering Reflections On Aging: Doesn’t Mean ‘Life Is Less’

by Ruth A

Published December 2, 2025

Demi Moore offered a powerful and uplifting message about aging during a recent appearance on The Stephen Colbert Show, where she spoke with warmth and confidence about the past year. The Oscar-nominated actress marked her 63rd birthday on the same day the episode aired, making her reflections feel even more personal. As Demi Moore looked back on her achievements—from her Golden Globe–winning role in The Substance to her performance in Landman—she described the year as nothing short of “great” and “fun.”

According to People, the conversation shifted when Stephen Colbert asked how she feels about aging in light of her recent success. Demi Moore did not hesitate to challenge the idea that growing older means slowing down. She stated that anyone who believes life becomes “less” with age is “sadly mistaken,” reinforcing her belief that aging can be a time of strength, creativity, and renewed joy.

Moore shared that her views have evolved over time. She admitted that she spent many years judging herself, often finding something that felt “not good enough” at different ages. As she reflected on her twenties and thirties, she realized how much energy she devoted to criticism rather than appreciation. Now, her relationship with aging has shifted toward what she calls “joyous acceptance.”

This growth became even clearer during her press tour for The Substance, a film that explores the fear of fading beauty. Demi Moore explained that she now sees herself as a whole person rather than just an external image. While she acknowledges the natural changes that come with age, she focuses on the “fullness” of who she is, choosing gratitude over self-judgment.

Demi Moore also opened up about how this stage of life has brought her deeper independence. With her daughters Rumer, Scout, and Tallulah now grown, she feels free to redefine her future. She told Today that she hopes women—including her own daughters—never see aging as an ending, but as a beginning filled with potential.
