Malcolm‑Jamal Warner Cause of Death Confirmed After Autopsy

Malcolm-Jamal Warner, the actor who rose to fame as Theo Huxtable on The Cosby Show, has died at the age of 54. The tragic news shocked fans across generations, and now, officials in Costa Rica have released the cause of his death, offering clarity amid the loss.

The actor died on July 20 while on vacation with his wife and daughter. An autopsy completed by Costa Rica’s Judicial Investigation Agency determined that the cause of death of Malcolm-Jamal Warner was accidental drowning due to asphyxiation by submersion. He had been body surfing when he was pulled under by a strong rip current.

Warner had been enjoying a family getaway in the Caribbean province of Limón when tragedy struck. Witnesses say he had been laughing and swimming in the surf before being overwhelmed by the powerful tide. Despite immediate efforts by beachgoers and rescue teams, they were unable to revive him.
