Bruce Willis Breaks Cover After Wife Confesses Doctors Missed Early Dementia Symptoms

Bruce Willis’ public appearances have drastically reduced since he was diagnosed with Frontotemporal Dementia, making his few times showing up special. He was spotted recently in the passenger seat of a black car around Studio City and looked quite relaxed.

 Before Bruce’s outing, his wife, Emma Hemming Willis, shared a video showing him having a conversation with LAPD first responders. He wore a jacket and jeans plus a baseball hat and could be seen smiling at the officers while shaking their hands.

Emma admitted during a chat with Town & Country that doctors may have missed her ill husband’s earliest signs of dementia, which was stuttering. In their defense, Bruce grew up with a bad stutter, and when it returned in adulthood, they simply dismissed it as normal.

The 46-year-old said she never believed anyone as young and vibrant as Bruce Willis could ever come down with dementia. Experts say early signs of the ravaging disease include social withdrawal, speech issues including slurring and stuttering, and bodily tremors.

Emma accompanied the video of Bruce and LAPD officers with a touching caption that read, “Spotting a first responder, Bruce never missed a chance to show his gratitude with a heartfelt handshake and a ‘thank you for your service Yesterday was no different.” The post went viral as it received more than 110,000 likes and thousands of comments and shares.

Fans took to the comments to share their thoughts and admiration for Bruce, whose acting they have missed in the last few years. “I am a 27 year Los Angeles Police Officer. There are some actors that play the role of a Police Officer so well that we come to see them as one of our own. Your husband is one of those actors. So wonderful to see him out and among us,” someone gushed, while another was curious as to how Bruce looked normal and healthy as opposed to the news making him out to be non-functional.
