Tom Selleck

Tom Selleck disclosed in an interview that he was not planning to retire anytime soon. The 79-year-old actor has played Frank Reagan in the crime drama Blue Bloods since 2010 and hopes to make a comeback in the Western genre soon.

He is looking to collaborate with Yellowstone creator Taylor Sheridan, admitting that he has missed the old days of climbing horses. Selleck has appeared in about six Westerns so far, and one of his best remains Quigley Down Under, which still maintains its acclaim as a classic.

Although Selleck is not getting as many offers as he would like, the father of one insists that he will not retire anytime soon. He noted that some people are thinking of having him on board their projects, however he is uncertain about where and when his next job will be.

Selleck added that he is not interested in doing a Frank Reagan II; however, he is open to suggestions on a potential Blue Bloods spin-off for his character. He believes Frank would not retire to just anywhere, and he would rather do Jesse Stone movies than see him settle in a small town.

Selleck admits to being frustrated about ‘Blue Bloods’

Selleck is still coming to terms with the end of Blue Bloods, and the hardest part so far has been getting used to not seeing his co-stars, whom he will miss terribly. Though frustrated that the show was taken for granted because it performed well from the onset, Selleck is cautious about not becoming the bitter old guy.

The final episode of Blue Bloods was released on CBS last December, and it ended with the Reagans having dinner, during which there was a shooting spree that killed one of theirs and the mayor.
