Dee Wallace is famous for playing Mary Taylor in the 1982 sci-fi movie E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial, which was one of the highest-grossing films of its time. Before then, Wallace already had some acclaim as a scream queen thanks to The Hills Have Eyes and The Howling.
Wallace starred in more horror movies after E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial and explored other genres, including comedy and sitcom, before withdrawing from the spotlight. She was recently spotted out and about in Los Angeles while walking her dog.
Where is Dee Wallace now?
Although not in the public eye as much, Wallace is still active in Hollywood. She was seen a day after Christmas wearing a gray sweatshirt, cream-colored sweatpants, and black sneakers as she strolled the quiet neighborhood with her pet.
This comes months after Wallace shared that she is now a grandmother on Instagram, as she showed off her grandson from her only daughter Gabrielle Stone. She recently turned 76 but shows no signs of slowing down.

Dee Wallace’s Hollywood journey
Wallace was inspired by her mother, Maxine Bowers, who worked as a stage actress. After her education degree from the University of Kansas, Wallace worked as a high school drama teacher before pursuing a career in film and television. She started in the mid-70s with small roles in shows like The Streets of San Francisco and Hart to Hart before rising to fame in horror films and, of course, E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial.
Wallace earned multiple recognitions, such as a Saturn Award nomination for Best Actress and a Daytime Emmy nod for Outstanding Special Guest Performer in a Drama Series for General Hospital. Aside from acting, Wallace is also a self-help author with three books to her name and runs her own call-in radio show. She is also a public speaker, having debuted her TEDx talk at the TEDx Cape May event six years ago.
