The Christmas cheer is being replaced with the realities of the daily grind as the world is getting back into its routine. Well, for football enthusiasts, this only marks the end of the NFL regular season and the commencement of the playoffs where the teams who will participate in the 2025 Super Bowl—a spectacle that has, over the years, established itself as one of the biggest single-day sports events in the world—will compete.
In light of this, Super Bowl organizers have now revealed the date and time when millions of football lovers all over the world will once again be captivated by players’ performances as well as the unique half-time shows while the Champion of Football is being crowned.
2025 Super Bowl will be held at Caesars Superdome
The NFL has announced that the highly anticipated 2025 Superbowl is scheduled to be held on the 9th of February 2025, making it the fourth time in a row that the showdown will be played on the Second Sunday in the month of February. The game will also be hosted at the Caesars Superdome, the official home ground of the Saints, a structure that holds much of football’s history for the eighth time since the intercollegiate contest’s inception.
The venue, located in New Orleans, Louisiana, is also known for a huge incident that occurred during the 47th Super Bowl in 2013, popularly nicknamed “the blackout Super Bowl. “During the match between the Ravens and the 49ers, an electrical fault caused half the stadium to lose lighting and blackout early in the second half, causing the match to stop for 20 minutes during the second half.
The schedule for the match is set for 6:30 PM, and fans are expected to get the best experience from the culmination of the NFL season as it will be available live on FOX, a network that has, over the years, continued to offer coverage for the largest football event of the year. Also, for fans who are hoping to stream the game, it will be available on Fubo and the NFL app, giving fans from anywhere across the globe access.
Kendrick Lamar will headline the 2025 Super Bowl halftime show
Adding to the excitement of the day, Kendrick Lamar, who has constantly met the expectations of fans all around the world with his astounding performances, is set to be the headlining act for the halftime show, becoming the latest in the long line of Hip Hop stars to be the face of the iconic show. The 16-time Grammy winner will toe the line set by Rihanna and Usher, who headlined the show in 2023 and 2024, respectively.
However, this is not Lamar’s first rodeo as a performer at the Super Bowl. The 37-year-old rapper, who made headlines throughout 2024 due to a feud with fellow rapper Drake, had previously gained attention in 2022 when he shared the stage with legendary Hip-Hop artists such as Eminem, Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Mary J Blige, and 50 Cent. Interestingly, Lamar’s selection as the artist to headline the 2025 Superbowl NFL came as a surprise as there were speculations that Miley Cyrus might be headlining the show this year after a post by MLFootball on X stated that she made it as the finalist for 2024’s Halftime Show.
Until now, the 32-year-old has not headlined any Superbowl halftime game, but she gained attention in 2021 for her performance alongside Billy Idol for TikTok’s pregame ceremony for the Super Bowl. Cyrus’s fans have been anticipating the “Wrecking Ball” singer’s performance when she finally headlines the NFL half-time show; however, all fingers are crossed for now since Lamar made the list this year, but her fans are still hopeful that she will once day headline the NFL halftime show.
