Lisa Kudrow’s son, Julian Murrey Stern, has begun to carry on his mother’s legacy. Lisa Kudrow became known for her role as Phoebe Buffay in the sitcom Friends, which aired from 1994 to 2004 and became an award-winning series. It shot Kudrow’s acting career into the limelight and earned her several awards, such as Prime-time Emmy, TV Guide, and American Comedy.
During the filming of Friends, Kudrow married her husband, Michel Stern, a French advertising executive, in 1995 after they first met in the 1980s. She conceived her son while the sitcom was still being produced, and her pregnancy was written into the fourth season of the series, with Phoebe, her character, carrying triplets as a surrogate mother for her half-brother and his wife.
Meet Lisa Kudrow’s son, Julian
Lisa Kudrow and Michel Stern welcomed their first and only son, Julian Stern, in 1998. Although his pregnancy was part of the series, he did not appear on television. However, his mother was fond of mentioning motherhood and her only child during interviews as part of what shaped her acting in Friends.
Despite Kudrow’s popularity, Lisa Kudrow’s son has chosen to stay out of the public eye, living a relatively private life, and she has also been careful about her son’s privacy. As he grew, he was sighted in public only when he followed his parents to events.
As the son of a celebrity, his parents have endeavored to keep his privacy to afford him the luxury of living away from public scrutiny and being able to make his own decisions. When he was younger, Lisa Kudrow’s son would joke about wanting to be a director, but he did not pursue a career in acting as a child.
Following his famous mother’s legacy
While much of Lisa Kudrow’s son is unknown to the public, he graduated from the University of Southern California with a bachelor’s degree in film and TV production in 2021, having developed an interest in filmmaking.

He is now walking in his mother’s footsteps, although he still prefers keeping a low profile. Since his graduation, he has worked as an actor and an editor in movies such as Doomed and Seth’s Big Break Two, a horror-comedy in 2022.
