It has been 40 years since Wham! Release “Last Christmas,” and backing singers Helen ‘Pepsi’ DeMacque Crockett and Shirlie Kemp have reunited for the Wham Last Christmas Unwrapped documentary, which premiered over the weekend.

The film gives fans an inside look into the band and the making of their timeless Christmas hit from Andrew Ridgeley’s perspective, as Wham!’s other half, George Michael is deceased. Shirlie took to social media to share photos from the documentary screening with Pepsi right beside her.

Shirlie, now 62, posed with 65-year-old Pepsi, and they both looked cozy in their warm Christmas outfits. The ladies looked unrecognizable four decades later, and fans complimented how good they looked in their sixties. “It’s such an emotional film full of tears and joy,” Shirlie wrote in her caption.

She added that the documentary captures why the song and visuals go together and why they have both remained a must-listen across generations. “Such a Christmas classic and lovely seeing our old friend and Last Christmas director,” she added. She also urged fans to catch up on the documentary that night on BBC.

The stars revisit locations where ‘Last Christmas’ was shot

The Last Christmas Unwrapped documentary saw the group, including Pepsi and Shirlie, revisit the snow-covered backdrop of Saas-Fee in Switzerland with Andrew. They also visited the famous ski lift and alpine chalet from the music video, bringing nostalgia from the ‘80s to fans. The film also stars Saas-Fee’s Mayor, who was the band’s driver during filming 40 years back.

Pepsi and Shirlie got comments from fans on their appearance, as they could hardly tell they were the same ladies from decades back. “love em, but they look like 2 girls at an 80’s disco trying their best,” someone said. “It must be just me who notices it but there is a bit of an atmosphere between Pepsi & Shirley,” another added, while someone responded that they are best friends.
