Nearly four decades after her biggest hit cover, “I Think We’re Alone Now,” Tiffany Darwish resurfaced at the Rewind Festival North in Cheshire, UK, where she gave a stunning performance alongside other artists like Gabrielle, Kim Wilde, Boyzlife, Billy Ocean, and Midge Ure.
Tiffany looked unrecognizable at 52 as she wore a black mini-dress that showed off her thighs and butterfly tattoos. She kept her bright red hair down to her shoulders with full bangs in front and accessorized with dark-themed minimalist jewelry.
Tiffany’s rise as a pop singer is marked by her Billboard Hot 100 chart-topping version of Tommy James and the Shondells’ “I Think We’re Alone Now,” followed by her Beautiful You: Celebrating The Good Life Shopping Mall Tour in 1987. She has so far released two studio albums and a second number-one single, “Could’ve Been.”
With a career that started three years before her breakthrough song, Tiffany has managed to amass a long-lasting following for herself, with fans singing along to her rendition of her hit covers at the recent gig. She was also on the UK’s The Masked Singer earlier this year at the Eiffel Tower, to the surprise of many viewers.
The Rewind Festival uploaded a clip of Tiffany’s performance to their social media, with delightful reactions from fans ensuing in the comments. “She was great and whole weekend was superb,” someone wrote. “Love Tiffany,” another simply quipped.
Amid the kind words were a few criticisms aimed at Tiffany’s new look. However, her supporters did not hesitate to defend her. “All this shame talk. She is beautiful,” a user noted, clapping back at those shaming Tiffany for gaining weight. This performance comes a year after she escaped an accident in Nashville involving a truck and her vehicle, which was damaged in the process.
