Guy Fieri’s son, Ryder, took to Instagram with snaps from their recent family vacation at Ruth Lake in California. While it might have been just another upload for the 18-year-old, the post got people talking as his dad’s signature spiky hair was nowhere in sight.
The carousel containing seven photos featured Guy in swimming shorts and a life jacket as he posed on a wakeboard. He had a bottle of his Santo Tequila in one hand and looked so cool, however his signature hairstyle was the missing puzzle.

Ryder called their admirable family time “one for the books” as he got to spend time with his dad. Fans were happy to be let in on their wholesome moment but could hardly get past Guy’s new appearance.

Unlike most people, a fan couldn’t see Guy differently. “Still looks the same even without his gel hair or sunglasses, love your shows and restaurants….” “Your father is having a great time on the surfboard, it would be so cool to meet you all one day, especially your father, he is my all-time favorite chef,” another added.

Ryder is the second of Guy’s two sons with Lori Fieri, who he has been married to for 30 years. Father and son share a love for sports, specifically the Golden State Warriors, and they have often attended playoffs together since Ryder was a kid.
The teenager has also appeared on Diners, Drive-Ins & Dives, showing off his flair for entertainment and food. His father was impressed and praised him on social media, with fans of the show agreeing that he is a natural. Ryder is set to begin advanced learning at San Diego State University later this year.
