Michael Jackson Reportedly ‘Lost It’ Over Lisa Marie Presley When They Broke Up

The late Michael Jackson had an eye for Elvis Presley’s only daughter, Lisa Marie Presley, for years, even while she was married to Danny Keough. After her divorce from Keough, Lisa Marie and Jackson got married in 1994 during a secret wedding ceremony in the Dominican Republic.

Years later, they would separate after Lisa Marie filed for a divorce, breaking the King of Pop’s heart to shreds. She admitted to leaving Jackson due to his drug use, child molestation accusations, and their disagreement over having children.

Amongst other things they seemed to clash over, Jackson and Lisa Marie did not agree on having kids. Lisa Marie already had two kids, Riley and Benjamin, from her previous marriage and was not keen on having more so soon. She stated her reasons for fear of more custody battles should they separate and the fact that Jackson mounted too much pressure on her.

Jackson, on the other hand, felt betrayed by his wife, who promised to get to having kids right after their wedding. He was so heartbroken that he bought baby dolls and would go out clutching them and crying. Lisa Marie clarified on Oprah Winfrey’s show that she never meant to hurt Jackson, stating that she just needed to be sure of their union before having more children.

The ultimate heartbreak

After several attempts to stay together amid disagreements, Jackson decided he was fed up with the marriage and insinuated a split. Lisa Marie responded by pleading profusely that they work things out one more time, however to Jackson’s shock, she filed for a divorce the very next day. The music legend was once again devastated by Lisa Marie’s betrayal, and his emotions spiraled down.

Jackson went deeper into drug use to deal with the pain, while the public felt validated since they guessed their union would not last. Regardless of how their romance played out, Lisa Marie admitted they got back together a few times after their split because they were still in love.
