Following Pat Sajak’s retirement from hosting one of America’s foremost game shows, Wheel of Fortune, fans have been looking out for what the new phase will bring this fall. Recent reports reveal that Pat’s ex-colleague and co-host, Vanna White, is not getting along with his replacement.
Ryan Seacrest was announced as the new show host last September, sparking mixed reactions from the audience who have been more accustomed to Pat and Vanna. The 49-year-old gladly accepted his new role, noting that he could hardly believe he was to take over from Pat.
Ahead of the new Wheel Of Fortune season this fall, viewers are calling for both hosts to switch sides, with Vanna as host and Ryan as the letter-turner. “They legit should do that for one episode. The internet would explode,” a fan quipped in agreement on X, formerly Twitter. “She should be hosting,” another simply stated.
Some also called for Pat Sajak’s daughter, Maggie, to be promoted from social media correspondent to co-host this new season. “Spin. Pat’s daughter will step in to be the new letter turner lady. Why else have they been shoving her in front of the camera for the last year or so?” a third user asked.
Sources have revealed that Vanna is finding it difficult to relate to Ryan, who is nearly two decades younger. After four decades of working with Pat, it is expected that Vanna would need time to adjust to a new reality. It appears she is considering walking away altogether if she is unable to cope with Pat’s absence.
Vanna is having second thoughts about her contract, which she extended until 2026, along with a pay raise years ago. She is considering a younger person as a better fit for when she leaves, while most fans clamor for Pat’s daughter to play host. Insiders further disclosed that Sony executives favor Vanna’s early retirement, leading to a novel era for the TV program.
