Liza Minnelli Assures Fans That She Is Living Happily As Her Documentary Premieres At Tribeca

Following the 2024 Tribeca Film Festival premiere of a new documentary, Liza: A Truly Terrific Absolutely True Story, Liza Minnelli thanked her fans and well-wishers for attending the screening. She added that the film was a “gift for my family, friends and fans!”

Liza assured that she is “still loving, still kicking, and still creating” as an actress and in life. She emphasized that her documentary would silence made-up stories about her life and called out compromised media outlets for spreading false information about public figures.

Liza Minnelli finally opens up on how she’s really doing

The 78-year-old promised fans they would love the upcoming film, which marks the start of new ways to “create at the ripe old age of 78.” On turning 78 in March, Liza admitted that she has never felt old and wishes she could act her age. She appears to not be taking breaks anytime soon, with more projects lined up for the rest of the year.

She revealed an upcoming project based on the intellectual property of her father, Dreams My Papa Gave Me, and is set to release her book about fashion photographers Bill Cunningham and Jean-Luce Huré, The Battle of Versailles: The Fashion War of 1973. She wrote the foreword of the book in collaboration with publisher Rizzoli and author Mark Bozek.

Staying strong

Liza is also proving to be multi-talented as she promises to make music again, which according to her publicist Victoria Verela will come when the time is right. She is doing all of this amid health struggles as she was spotted in a wheelchair during a recent rare appearance that caused a stir.

She has undergone numerous surgeries in her lifetime, including hip and knee replacements, with jaw reconstruction after having an accident on stage. She has also been diagnosed with viral encephalitis and scoliosis in the past; nonetheless, Liza believes she still has much value to give, hence her resolve to not retire just yet.
