Celine Dion’s Three Children Fear Her Imminent Passing From Stiff Person Syndrome

As Celine Dion’s battle with Stiff Person Syndrome progresses, her three children, René-Charles, and the twins Nelson and Eddy, are beginning to have morbid thoughts about their only surviving parent dying. She noted they are terrified of losing her as they did their dad, which also worries her tremendously.

While speaking on Australia’s Sunrise Morning Show, Celine noted that she has no living parents herself and is concerned about her kids getting left behind, too. The disease, which has caused her to retire due to vocal cord spasms and body stiffness, has no known cure yet and reportedly progresses.

Unknown to most, Celine spent much of the 2000s lying about the true state of her health in a bid to keep performing and not disappoint her fans. She admitted on The Jennifer Hudson Show that she depended on heavy doses of Valium to deliver on stage; however, her body grew resistant to the medication, forcing her to seek medical intervention.

She also recalled caring for her late husband, René-Charles Angelil, who died from throat cancer in 2016, and having to balance her career with raising three kids on her own at the same time. She could not keep up with the facade after experiencing broken ribs and locked joints on several occasions, hence her reason for speaking up about her diagnosis in late 2022.

Will Celine Dion perform again?

Celine has been most concerned about delivering value to her fans, and this stirs hope in her to perform again soon. Judging by recent updates and her health progress, the chances of Celine making music again full-time seem very bleak; nevertheless, she has channeled her energy into creating other forms of service for society.

She worked on a documentary titled I Am: Celine Dion, which promises to take viewers on a journey into Celine’s life and career, plus her ordeal with Stiff Person Syndrome. Celine is also undergoing rigorous exercise and therapy to restore her voice and is working on a TV special featuring her top hits of all time. As for her sons, the 56-year-old is grateful for their support and now gets to enjoy more family time with them.
