Burt Ward recently opened up about life after Batman and how he put his Robin spandex to good use over the years. It has been 50 years since Burt played his most popular role opposite Adam West, who took on the lead part as Batman himself.
Sadly, Robin lost his other TV half to Leukemia in 2017 after years of working together on other productions like Return to the Batcave: The Misadventures of Adam and Burt, Batman: Return of the Caped Crusaders and Batman vs. Two-Face which debuted after Adam passed away.
Burt Ward gets intimate in his sidekick costume
Burt enjoyed playing sidekick to Adam’s Batman, saying they shared “unique chemistry” and an identical sense of humor. The 78-year-old admitted that his original Spandex Robin suit still fits, and he sometimes puts it on during intimate moments with his wife, Tracy Posner. Tracy found humor in her husband’s daring reveal; however, she considered it unnecessary.

It is unlikely that only Tracy has been privy to Burt’s hilarious dress-up in the bedroom, as she is his fourth wife after failed marriages to Bonny Lindsey, actress Kathy Kersh, and model Mariana Torchia. The father of two further revealed in his memoir, Boy Wonder: My Life in Tights, that his costume was uncomfortable and the cape weighed about 15 Lbs.
Burt now directs most of his focus to family and his passion project, Gentle Giants Rescue and Adoptions, which helps to care for abandoned large breed dogs. He runs the nonprofit with Tracy, and they have helped over 15,000 dogs so far connect with caring new homes. Burt recalled bonding with Adam over their shared love for puppies and mutual disdain for their costumes on set.
Celebrities like Serena Williams, Vanessa Williams and America Ferrera have adopted dogs through Burt’s initiative, which always has at least 50 dogs at a time ready for a new family. Burt’s concern for pets inspired him to create Gentle Giant Products in 2005, which supposedly elongates the lifespan of dogs and cats.
