John Stamos Opens Up About His Upcoming Performances With The Beach Boys

The Beach Boys will not be touring alone on their much anticipated Endless Summer Gold 2024 tour, as their longtime friend and collaborator, John Stamos, will be joining them on several dates. The rock band will be celebrating the 50th anniversary of their Endless Summer album across various locations, including Hawaii, Nashville, and Los Angeles.

John is currently on the road with the group, and is “humbled that I get to be part of something truly special.” Together with The Beach Boys, he headlined the recent Fox and Friends All-American Summer Concert Series, where he noted that the music was a form of healing for a period of high discord and low decency, adding that their classics have become even more important today.

While on stage, John expressed his gratitude to The Beach Boys bandmates, including Mike Love, Al Jardine, Bruce Johnston, Carl Wilson, and Brian Wilson, who was not present due to a “major neurocognitive disorder.” He noted that their partnership is “the thrill of my life,” next to his son Billy and wife Caitlin McHugh.

John always admired The Beach Boys from afar as a young boy, who at the time was also gaining fame as Blackie Parrish from the soap opera General Hospital. He first met them during one of their concerts, and to his surprise, Mike got him onstage to do an encore with the rest of the group, and the rest is history.

John expressed his many talents

Aside from being an excellent actor, John is also skilled at drumming and began grooming his ear for music as a child. He was arguably a replacement for the band’s original drummer, Dennis Wilson, on some occasions, and recalled having to do the work of two drummers for a while. He famously appeared in the video for 1988’s “Kokomo,” which he admitted was not an immediate hit at the time.

In his 2023 memoir titled If You Would Have Told Me, John paid tribute to The Beach Boys’ guitarist, Jeffrey Foskett, who died from anaplastic thyroid cancer last year, for initiating his friendship with the band. John also returned the favor by involving them in Full House where he played Jesse Katsopolis alongside the likes of Bob Saget and Jodie Sweetin.
