Wynonna Judd's performance

Wynonna Judd gave the audience a memorable performance as she joined Emmy Russell to perform “Coal Miner’s Daughter” and “No One Else on Earth” for the season 22 finale of American Idol. The country singer complimented her embellished two-piece suit with a matching cowboy hat over her long hair and went all out with her makeup for the show.

The episode ended with twenty-year-old Abi Carter as the winner and judge Katy Perry bidding farewell after presiding over contestants for seven seasons. Amid all night’s highlights, fans seemed more concerned about Judd’s appearance and expressed their fears on social media.

Judd appeared stiff while performing and hardly moved her body, raising eyebrows about her health. After the show, fans went on X to express their concerns. “Wynonna Judd really didn’t move at all during her song. It was slightly disturbing,” someone posted. “What is wrong with #Wynonna she acted the same way when she sang with #JellyRoll,” another quipped while referring to a previous performance at last year’s CMA awards.

Judd’s excuse for a similar case a few months ago was that she felt “so nervous that I just held on for dear life” to Jelly Roll’s arm. Some internet users went as far as diagnosing Judd with conditions like vertigo due to her reaction to the flashing stage lights. “Hoping it’s not something medical that’s bad going on,” a reply read. There has been no response from Judd or her team about her American Idol performance. Nonetheless, her fans keep hoping she is healthy.

One of Judd’s fans was apparently right about her having vertigo, as the singer was forced to cancel a show in Nashville early last year due to the condition. Vertigo is mostly associated with imbalance and comes with symptoms such as dizziness, nausea, and, in extreme cases, loss of hearing. With a career involving movement and physical activity, Judd had to take a break until earlier this year.

Aside from maintaining her health, Judd has had her bout with weight loss in the past, having lost about 55 Lbs so far. She decided to lose weight after a health scare in 2010, which led to “some surgery to repair my stomach wall” and “a major blood clot go through my heart.” Following that, the “Love Can Build A Bridge” singer got into a car accident in Salt Lake City, further solidifying her resolve to live a healthier lifestyle.
