After a several-decade wait, devoted Beetlejuice enthusiasts are finally on the brink of realizing their long-held desire to witness the return of their beloved bio-exorcist alongside the quirky Deetz family in the eagerly anticipated horror-comedy sequel, Beetlejuice Beetlejuice. Among the myriad of attractions of Beetlejuice 2, viewers are particularly eager to see the original cast reprising their iconic roles.

Ahead of the release of the movie set for release on the 5th of September, Catherine O’Hara, a cherished figure among fans, who is also set to make a triumphant return to the Beetlejuice universe, has a word for critics of the upcoming movie.

Recently, director Tim Burton was accompanied onstage by a star-studded lineup including Michael Keaton, Catherine O’Hara, Justin Theroux, Monica Bellucci, and Willem Dafoe, at CinemaCon in Las Vegas treating the audience to exclusive footage from the highly anticipated sequel to the beloved 1988 cult classic.

During a featurette screened for the audience, O’Hara shared insights into the upcoming sequel. She teased that the sequel will retain the perfect blend of scares and humor that fans loved about the original. Moreover, she playfully fired back at potential critics, confidently asserting that the sequel is poised to deliver an experience that will captivate audiences, regardless of naysayers. “And if people don’t like it, then f— them,” O’Hara said.

Apart from O’Hara’s subtle jab, the movie cast including the director, expressed positive thoughts about the soon-to-be-released film. Michael Keaton commended the cast’s vibrant chemistry, highlighting the actors’ synergy that enhanced the cinematic experience. “I was very nervous to see if we could pull it off again,” he admitted. “But every day got more and more fun.”

Tim Burton also openly admitted that the film evoked deep sentimental feelings within him. “It’s really f—ing good. It’s truly very personal and emotional and special,” the director confessed. “It’s like a weird big home movie for me.”
