American actress and TV personality Valerie Bertinelli started her career in Hollywood as a teenager. She earned two Golden Globe Awards for Best Supporting Actress in the sitcom One Day at a Time, which aired for eleven years. Valerie also tried her hands on so many other things, like being a writer and spokesperson for the Jenny Craig weight loss program before later transitioning to anchoring TV shows, Valerie’s Home Cooking (2015-2023) and Kids Baking Championship (2015-2024) alongside Charm City Cake’s Duff Goldman.
However, Valerie’s TV show career hasn’t been without a hitch. She was dropped from her last hosting gig earlier this year, and she reacted by claiming the Food Network “ghosted” her. Recently, the 63-year-old appeared on The View to promote her new cookbook, Indulge, and during the live interview, the network censored her twice.

During the segment, Valerie treated The View‘s Whoopi Goldberg and other co-hosts to a sumptuous treat as they discussed topics ranging from personal questions to career. The mother of one brought a bit of humor to the interview by feigning ignorance when the host questioned her about her dishes. “What is this? Did I make this?” she reacted as she discussed the dishes.

The View co-host Joy Behar played along as she quizzed Valerie further. “Turkey? Is this turkey?” Behar interjected while Valerie still maintained her confused state, responding, “Joy, I don’t know. No, that’s chicken.”
To douse the seeming tension about her dishes, Valeri channeled her political side as she advised the co-hosts and viewers to get involved in the upcoming election. “I just want you to know how dang important it is for everyone to vote,” she said; however, the producers cut a part of the discussion. “Please, vote for your own benefit. Thank you. I get a little excited, and I just have to think about our queen Taylor Swift and…” Though the part was censored as the sound got muted, Valerie’s lip sync seemed like she voiced the words “calm the f— down.”
