Sharon Osbourne Updates On Ozzy Osbourne Amid Parkinson’s Battle: “He’s Miserable”

71-year-old Sharon Osbourne has been taking care of her husband Ozzy as he contends with Parkinson’s disease. Keeping fans updated on the Black Sabbath musician’s health, Sharon has shared the somber update that the 75-year-old television personality is feeling “miserable” through his health struggles.

Ozzy was first diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease back in February 2019 but did not go public with the diagnosis until January 2020. A month later, he canceled his 2020 North American tour and instead focused on receiving treatment in Switzerland, before settling in California before making plans to uproot and return to his and Sharon’s native U.K. In light of his health struggles, Sharon has assumed the role of caregiver for Ozzy

Sharon Osbourne shares that Ozzy Osbourne is feeling “miserable” through his struggles with Parkinson’s disease

“It’s hard for him,” Sharon revealed of husband Ozzy while speaking to Broadway star Marisha Wallace, going on to share, “He’s already started to complain. I had my last phone call with him on the way here and he was miserable.”

Part of that stems not just from Parkinson’s but from Ozzy’s troubled health history. A quad bike accident required several surgeries years ago, which led to their own complications; he also took a nasty fall in the bathroom in 2019, which prompted him to cancel his tour. At one point, Ozzy needed 15 screws put into his spine.

It was that 2019 restroom fall that led Ozzy to find out he had Parkin 2, a rare form of early-onset Parkinson’s characterized by all the usual characteristics of nervous system disorders.

Sharon is focusing on her role as his caregiver

“I don’t want to stay away from Ozzy for too long,” Sharon went on, “We’re so close as a family.” For this reason, although Sharon was tapped for Celebrity Big Brother, she opted to stay only a short while, to focus on Ozzy through his Parkinson’s battle. She is the first-ever lodger on the show, meaning she was only there for a set amount of time: only five days; typically, stars commit to at least three weeks.

Speaking of her family’s closeness, Sharon went on, “I don’t think I have ever gone a week without talking to any of them, ever. Through fights, feuds, everything. We still talk and this will definitely be the longest. I don’t know how I’m going to cope.”

Some of what Sharon had to say had threads of positivity in it, as she also said that, through the discomfort, “He is doing ok, it’s hard for him but he’s doing ok.”
