Jamie Lee Curtis and Lindsay Lohan played mother and daughter in 2003’s Freaky Friday, and they will be gracing the big screen again in the upcoming sequel. Lohan confirmed this on SiriusXM’s Andy Cohen Live Monday, saying she does not “want to say too much,” but “we’re both excited.”
Jamie Lee Curtis was all for the comeback after her recent press tour where fans suggested a reunion. “As I went around the world with Halloween Ends, people wanted to know if there was going to be another Freaky Friday. Something really touched a chord,” she revealed.

After her time on the road, Curtis “called my friends at Disney and said, ‘It feels like there’s a movie to be made.’”

“Jamie and I are both open to that. So we’re leaving it in the hands that be,” Lohan quipped. They then reminisced on their time together and the lessons learned from the script. Lohan learned to “have more patience,” while Curtis learned to “suspend the judgment, open the ear, listen more.”
Lohan, who became a parent last July, said Freaky Friday also taught her “to let them explore and live the way they need to live— with boundaries.”
“Also, as a parent, we’re sizing up all the time: shoes, clothes, foods. It’s all future thought. My lesson from Freaky Friday was to be where your feet are,” 65-year-old Curtis quipped.
Curtis found a friend in Lohan after their time on set for Freaky Friday; per Curtis’ chat with PEOPLE’s Adrianna Costa in 2022, the ladies still keep in touch after many years. “We’re in contact, and the fact that she can poke fun at herself a little means we can all poke fun at ourselves, believe me, so God bless her,” the scream queen said of her former film daughter.
She also expressed her admiration for Lohan, saying the 37-year-old is a great talent. “I’m just happy that she’s happy…and she’s had a lot on her plate at a very young age. It seems like she is settling into a really happy domestic life— she’s engaged,” Curtis added. The second part of the original based on Mary Rodgers’ 1972 novel was first announced by Disney last May, and fans can expect more information soon.
