Jennifer Aniston attended this year’s People’s Choice Awards wearing a strapless black tube dress and matching heels, which sparked conversation among her fans. The gown was short, with ruched detailing at the hem, and Aniston completed the look with minimal jewelry and light, subtle makeup.
Fans who found her outfit gorgeous praised her in the comments after she uploaded photos on Instagram; however, some deemed Aniston’s choice inappropriate and criticized her outfit. The Friends star’s caption read, “Taking in all the love from the night @peopleschoice And @adamsandler, you will always be an icon in my eyes!”
Aniston shared her carousel of photos from the event and when she was getting ready. The post got over a million likes and thousands of comments full of mixed reactions. “Always looks terrific & effortlessly chic,” someone exclaimed. “You’re the most stunning girl that I see always,” another added with a few heart emojis.
On the contrary, a number of followers were not so pleased with Aniston’s tube gown. “This dress ain’t it,” a user simply wrote. “Another boring black dress!” a rather disappointed fan noted, with another echoing the same thought in her statement that read, “Always the same ass black dress and straight hair smh, it’s been ages.”
On the brighter side, the A-list actress received an award for Drama TV Star of the Year for The Morning Show at the event, where she also got to present her co-anchor and friend, Adam Sandler, with his win. “I love doing our show, ‘The Morning Show,’ we have so much fun,” Sandler gushed, to which Aniston responded that it “means the world to me.” “I really appreciate it from the bottom of my heart. Thank you,” she added.
Amid the differing opinions about her style, some fans were simply concerned about the honor she received earing the outfit and congratulated her. “The people choose you. Congratulations to you and Adam!” a lady cheered. “You deserve ALL the recognition in the world,” another exclaimed. “Your career is brilliant, and along with all this glamour, you brought authenticity and joy into our lives with your talent.”
