Friends alum Jennifer Aniston recently turned 55, and to mark the milestone, her co-star Courteney Cox shared photos of them and one of Jennifer’s scenes with the late Matthew Perry. “Not sure why this is one of my favorite clips,” Courteney wrote. “I guess it’s because nobody else in the world could make this line sound so cute.”
The clip features a conversation between Jennifer’s character, Rachel Green, and Perry’s Chandler Bing, where she tells him that Courteney’s Monica Geller just broke her seashell lamp. “Happy Birthday, my sweet Jenny Louise. Also don’t know why I call her that…but I sure do love you,” Courteney added with a heart emoji.

The birthday girl responded to her friend’s heartfelt note in the comments with some humor. “You BROKE IT! I love you,” she exclaimed. Jennifer also posted a video documenting her life so far, from her TV character’s birthday on Friends to childhood photos and more recent times. She shared Stanley Kunitz’s poem “The Layers” as her caption, along with the word “grateful.”

Beyond their time on set, Jennifer and Courteney have built a lasting friendship, as have the rest of their castmates. “We’ve been through so many things together. The show taught us the importance of camaraderie and sticking together. And it’s taught me about being there for each other – I know, that’s the song, I’ll be there for you. But it’s true,” Jennifer once said of her “friends.”
When Courteney got her star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame early last year, Jennifer gave a heartwarming speech about their friendship, stating that “to be friends with Courteney is to be family with Courteney.”
“She’s responsible for all of that. From the beginning of Friends, she was immediately inclusive, warm, loving, interested in everything about you,” she gushed. Courteney later thanked her “for showing up for me in public, the way you so often do in private” in response.
