Woman In Her 20s Is Happy Living Life In The ’80s — Here’s How Her Typical Day Looks

While many ’80s-era lovers reminisce or admire that period, twenty-year-old Jordan Rumsey lives that reality by tailoring her lifestyle unapologetically. “My peers, at first, didn’t really like the way that I was dressing because it was different, and I think a lot of people, especially in high school, think that being different is not okay,” she told Bored Panda.

She became famous online for her unique look and consistently shared what life in the 1980s would be like. Jordan never expected to go viral. However, people online find her life fascinating. “I think it’s so crazy that people love the same things that I do, and it really makes me happy that I have a whole community filled with like-minded people,” she gushed.

Sharing her ‘80s-inspired lifestyle helped Jordan financially

Jordan has managed to grow a fanbase, which has helped her create a part-time job by simply showing off ‘80s style, music, and inspiration. “It has really changed my life, I think, for the better because I’ve had so many amazing cool opportunities that have arisen from it,” she gushed. She expressed gratitude for how rewarding her passion has turned out despite facing criticism for it. “Always just be yourself, and don’t listen to what other people have to say because there will always be haters,” she advised.

Her followers often offer gifts via TikTok, which has contributed significantly to meeting her financial needs, including school tuition. “All of the big gifts go straight towards my college tuition, and I’ve been able to pay off a lot of that just for being myself, and it makes me so happy, and I’m so grateful, and I will never take any of it for granted,” Jordan added.

Jordan’s ‘80s favorites

Her favorites from way back include Pat Benatar, Belinda Carlisle, Mötley Crüe, and Def Leppard for fashion. Jordan also enjoys exploring dead malls like the Berkshire Mall in Wyomissing, Pennsylvania, where she filmed one of her most viral content. “When I grew up, there were no dead malls near me. They were only more modern malls, which I’m not a big fan of,” she admitted. “I don’t really shop at the mall…but I love to go to a mall just to hang out, especially if there are some great vibes there.”

Her top ‘80s movies are Can’t Buy Me Love, Mannequin, and The Hitcher, and she fell in love with the era while seeing her parents’ old films growing up. “I would really resonate with some of the characters, and I would absolutely love their outfits, and I would try to re-create them by buying very similar outfits,” she revealed. Jordan is looking to use her fame positively with an upcoming project she is “super excited to share in the future.”
