While talking to AARP for their February to March issue, 80-year-old Robert De Niro teared up on the topic of his nine-month-old daughter, Gia. Robert shares the adorable baby with his film producer girlfriend, Tiffany Chen, who had her in April 2023.
De Niro, who was recently nominated for an Oscar as Best Supporting Actor, expressed concerns about his age and fatherhood. “I don’t know where it’s gonna go with her later when she gets older,” he admitted. “I want to be around for as long as I can to enjoy it and enjoy her.”
Robert De Niro wants to be around to raise his nine-year-old daughter for as long as possible
De Niro is bursting with love for his cute baby girl, who is growing fast. “Everything that I’m consumed with or worried about just goes away when I look at her. It’s wondrous,” he gushed. “She has a very sweet kind of way of looking at you and just taking you in.”

He added that Gia reminds him of his 12-year-old daughter Helen — whom he shares with Grace Hightower via surrogate — when she was a baby. “She has a very sweet kind of way of looking at you and just taking you in,” he added.
Dad life
Robert is a father to seven children from previous marriages and dating relationships. He adopted his first wife’s daughter, Drena, when they married in 1976, and she is now a model who works with top designers like Patrick Kelly, Jean Paul Gaultier, Vivienne Westwood, and Giorgio Armani. Several other kids of Robert’s are entertainers like him while taking his advice to “not sell yourself short” in the industry.
He kept Gia’s arrival a secret until an interviewer asked about his six children, and he corrected her. “Seven, actually. I just had a baby,” he clarified. The news was met with criticism from fans who thought it was unfair to deliberately have a newborn in old age; however, Robert claimed to be “good with it.”
