In a recent interview on Jimmy Kimmel Live, Goldie Hawn’s kids, Kate and Oliver Hudson, had a lot to say about their mom’s longtime boyfriend. They called Kurt Russell an “interesting man” who “always finds himself in some sort of scenario.”
Oliver added that Kurt was always crossing paths with killers. “Actually, he was on camera when O.J. Simpson drove into his house. He was in the driveway,” he recalled. “You could see him on KTLA, like, ‘Huh? That’s dad!’ I was like, ‘What is he doing there?’”
Kurt Russell was on TV during the O.J. Simpson chase report
Kurt was watching the NBA finals at a friend’s home when the police chase happened. At that moment, Kurt decided to head over to Simpson’s just to see what happened. “It was the big chase; O.J. was on the 405, and Kurt all of sudden just went, ‘Oh, he’s going home,’” Kate said. “Next thing you know, he gets in the car, and he leaves, and he goes to O.J.’s house.”

A curious Kurt went over with his friend, only for the kids to see him “on television behind the caution tape.” Simpson tried to get away in a white Ford Bronco two days after his wife, Nicole Brown Simpson, and her friend, Ron Goldman, were found murdered in her Los Angeles home. The chase happened on June 17, 1994, and lasted two hours.
Kurt Russell, the fun stepdad
Oliver added that Kurt also ran into serial killer Ted Bundy and some of Charles Manson’s gang. However, Kate says she might not believe either of those stories. “There’s grains of salt all over the place,” Oliver quipped as they discussed their stepdad with amusement.
Kurt has been in Oliver and Kate’s life since the early ‘80s when he started dating Goldie. They both regard him as their father figure, and they credit him for raising them. “I have a stepfather who stepped in and played a huge, huge part in sharing what it is to have a dependable father figure in our life,” Kate once said.
