Navarone Garcia Blew Up To $3k Monthly On Fentanyl Until Mom, Priscilla Presley, Saved Him

Navarone Garcia battled fentanyl addiction since his late 20s after getting introduced to substances like heroin as a teenager. The Them Guns band member and only son of Priscilla Presley reportedly spent over $3,000 monthly on fentanyl until his mom came to his rescue.

Navarone, whose late half-sister, Lisa Marie Presley, also dealt with substance abuse, claims to have been unaware that he was doing fentanyl. “I don’t know how this happened, but all the heroin in the United States started to contain fentanyl…so suddenly I was addicted to fentanyl,” he told The Sun.

Navarone was grateful to his mom — who nearly became an addict in her first marriage to Elvis Presley — for saving his life. “I don’t recommend it to anyone because it’s very lethal. If you don’t have any tolerance, you die the first time you do it,” he said. “So it’s a scary, scary thing.”

The synthetic opioid was also detrimental to his finances as he was spending thousands monthly to meet up with his body’s demands. “With fentanyl, you have to do it every 45 minutes, or else you start to get sick. So it got to a point where it was very expensive,” Navarone explained. “I was spending $3,000 a month on fentanyl. It was unbearable.” Fentanyl, which is 50 times stronger than heroin, requires frequent intakes, unlike the latter, which accommodates longer intervals.

He got help from Priscilla

Navarone stayed at Priscilla’s house “for about three weeks to a month” to recover. “I was indisposed. I was useless. She helped me do everything,” he recalled. While his late half-sister, Lisa Marie, had to check into rehab multiple times to let go of cocaine and opioids.

The Presley family has had a history of substance abuse, with Elvis himself dying at the age of 42 with up to 14 types of drugs in his system. “Throughout my life, I’ve had the heartbreaking experiences of family and friends falling victim to alcohol and drugs,” the Presley matriarch revealed in an old interview. She also admitted on multiple occasions that Elvis never considered himself an addict; hence, there was only so much she could do to save the Rock and Roll king.
