‘The Masked Singer’ Donut Revealed As Beloved ‘Dukes Of Hazzard’ Actor

John Schneider, who appeared as Donut in the ongoing season of The Masked Singer, wowed the crowd with performances of “You Are So Beautiful” by Joe Cocker and “Drift Away” by Dobie Gray. He got ahead of Gazelle, and the Sea Queen who turned out to be Macy Gray, however, Cow beat him to the Golden Mask Trophy.

At the end of the show, the donut revealed that the show helped him heal from the loss of his wife to cancer in February. He also shared some advice for those grieving their loved ones, asking them to keep memories alive. “I urge you folks, if you’ve lost a spouse, don’t let them go away. Talk about them next time you have a donut and coffee, talk about them,” he said.

Robert Thicke and Ken Jeong guessed the Donut to be Tom Jones, while Nicole Scherzinger said he was Engelbert Humperdinck. Jenny McCarthy-Wahlberg correctly uncovered the masked performer as the Dukes Of Hazzard star, John Schneider.

When asked how he felt about being identified as Tom Jones all season, John said he was delighted with that. “Isn’t that crazy? That’s crazy. What a great comparison, as a guy who sings, that they think I’m Tom Jones. That’s just wonderful. What greater compliment would there be?” he responded.

His late wife wanted him on the show

John and Alicia Allain tied the knot in 2019, after dating for nearly four years. The couple’s marriage was short-lived due to Alicia’s death at the age of 53. John admitted that being on the show was her idea, and his performances have been dedicated to her. “She said, next, it’s going to be ‘Masked Singer.’ And I said, “Baby, babe, come on. Nobody knows I sing,” he shared. “And so I do think that she had a lot to do with it from heaven. I really do I know that she enjoyed it.”

He also promoted his new album, We’re Still Us, which he produced as a tribute to Alicia and fans who have lost loved ones. “It’s a beautiful tribute to My Smile, my tribute to Alicia. So I think they’ll really enjoy that. Especially if they’ve lost loved ones or if they’ve lost a spouse in particular, I think they’ll enjoy it. It’s very healing music,” he explained.
