Bruce Willis Spotted In Rare Appearance After Losing Speech To Dementia

After a four-decade-long successful career in Hollywood, Die Hard star Bruce Willis retired from acting early last year due to health problems. The actor was first diagnosed with aphasia—speech difficulty—before his most recent diagnosis of frontotemporal dementia (FTD), which has taken a toll on the actor over the months.

Thankfully, his family is giving him all the support he needs while also promoting awareness about his health condition to support other people in the same situation. The actor is staying strong and has been spotted quite a few times in public amidst his health battles.

Recently, the 68-year-old was seen wearing a black hoodie and seated in the passenger seat of a black car in Los Angeles. In all his rare appearances since his battle with FTD began, the actor has always been spotted alongside a chaperone due to the behavioral changes that come with FTD.

His health struggles have not been easy on his family members, especially his current wife, Emma Hemming, who has been supportive and vocal about it. “I struggle with guilt, knowing that I have resources that others don’t,” Emma shares her experience while spotlighting other families struggling with the disease. “While I’m able to get out for a hike to clear my head, it’s not lost on me that not all care partners can do that,” Emma continued, “When what I share about our family’s journey gets press attention, I know that there are many thousands of untold, unheard stories, each of them deserving of compassion and concern.”

Willis’ daughters are also sad about their dad’s health condition

Bruce Willis’s three daughters, Rumer, Scout, and Tallulah are also greatly affected by their father’s recent diagnosis. The daughters turn to their social media accounts to post memories of themselves and Bruce, as well as educate their fans about his condition.

During a recent interview on The Drew Barrymore Show, Tallulah shared more insight on her and her sister’s decision to advocate for people suffering from the same health condition as their father. “If we can take something that we’re struggling with as a family and individually, to help other people, to turn it around, to make something beautiful about it, that’s really special for us,” she said.
