Barry Williams and his pro partner, Peta Murgatroyd, won their dance-off against Jason Mraz and Daniella Karagach on Tuesday’s episode of Dancing With the Stars. Both sides did the salsa to Whitney Houston’s “It’s Right, But It’s Not Okay,” with Barry stealing the show by ripping his shirt open.
The crowd cheered as he exposed his chest beneath the pink top, achieving his aim to “give it all, leave it all on the floor, and have a great time” that night. The performance ended with the crowd chanting “Barry,” making it harder for the judges to choose a winner, seeing Mraz’s skill and showmanship too.
Barry and his partner were declared winners, earning them an extra three points, which brought their score up to 35. The crowd cheered once again after judge Carrie Ann Inaba made up her mind, and the Brady Bunch star further ripped his already-open shirt all the way.
Sadly, Barry did not make it further and was eliminated earlier than he hoped. Although now out, Barry is glad to have beaten his TV sister Maureen McCormick as the Brady Bunch cast member to make it the furthest in the competition. “I lost that egg on the cone driving contest, and she never let me live it down,” he joked, referring to an old bet.
After the exhilarating night, Barry told ET’s Denny Directo he felt good regardless of the loss. “It felt electric. I felt supportive. It felt loud, and it felt good. I have never had more fun on the dance floor period,” he said. His TV brother, Christopher Knight, was also in the crowd, joining them to excitedly call Barry’s name.
On the other hand, Peta did not expect to make it so far into the show. She said Barry “kept surprising me every week” as they worked together. “The amount of dedication this man has shown me truly has far surpassed some of my other partners’ dedication, hard work and the hours that he puts in,” she gushed. “He really gave me his time, and that means everything to me.”
