Riley Keough Looks Like Her Famous Grandfather Elvis As She Debuts Jet Black Hair

Elvis Presley’s granddaughter, Riley Keough, looked stunning as she rocked jet-black hair for the first time. The actress showed off her dark locks via an Instagram story while at the Virginia Film Festival for War Pony, a film she directed with Gina Gammell.

Riley’s new look reminds many of not just her famous grandad’s hair, but also Priscilla’s. Glamour magazine said she looked like “she walked right off the set of Sofia Coppola’s new Priscilla movie.” The new release tells the story of her grandparents’ romance based on the memoir Elvis and Me.

Having rocked several other hair colors besides her new debut, Riley’s latest choice is getting lots of attention as it reminds fans of the Presley matriarch. Priscilla has revealed in the past that she was not originally dark-haired, but Elvis made her change it so that they looked alike as a couple.

Priscilla mentioned on ITV’s This Morning show that Elvis “did want me to dye my hair black when I was young so we could look alike a little bit,” which was in response to the host stating, “Well here’s the other thing I want to say to you: it is absolutely spooky to me, I think you so look like him, especially when he was younger.”

Riley went red-haired for a movie

Riley played the lead role in the Prime Video limited series Daisy Jones and the Six, where she had to change her hair color from dark to red. “Color was very important in this particular project because of Daisy Jones. I needed something that gave her that confidence because she just mows them over,” hairdresser Maryann Hennings said.

“She’s normally dark-haired, so I lightened it, put this bright red on it, and then put a gloss over it that just made the whole thing shine,” Maryann added. She concluded that the finished look made Riley look like a “rock star” and complemented the outfits perfectly as the character demanded. “The wardrobe, that color, and that long hair just took her to a new level,” Maryann gushed.
