89-Year-Old Frankie Valli Is Ready For One Last Encore

Frankie Valli recently announced his decision to lay low when it comes to live performances in 2024. He also noted that his next round of concerts will be termed the Last Encores tour. “I’m not sure whether I’m gonna keep going out,” he said.

“I’ve been doing this a long time. It’s not so much the work— it’s the travel. Back in the day, you went to a job, and you stayed there for a week,” he said while he was with a former CBS marketing executive, Jacobs, in his Encino home. “That wasn’t so bad. Now everything is one-nighters, which means you finish the show, get to bed, get up at 6 in the morning, go to the airport, go to the next job, and do the same thing all over again,” he said.

Frankie is determined to stay away from shows

Headlining shows is nothing new to Frankie, who plays up to eighty fully-packed concerts in a year, including one at Inglewood’s YouTube Theater, where he told the audience they can hear them in Sacramento. He also made a surprise appearance at Clive Davis’ annual pre-Grammy gala in Beverly Hills, where he performed “Can’t Take My Eyes Off You” with several A-list singers in attendance.

“When I called to ask him to perform, he was actually already booked. So I said, ‘Look, Frankie,’ and then I described who would be in the room,” veteran record executive Davis said. Davis is known for significantly contributing to the success of Whitney Houston’s and Barry Manilow’s careers.

Franks has plans to live a lowkey life going forward

Frankie assumed those in the room would not recognize him, but he performed anyway and was surprised by their reaction. “I was shocked at the response. I mean, there were a lot of rappers up front, and they were going crazy,” he recalled. New age singers like Olivia Rodrigo, Demi Lovato, and others were spotted in an Instagram video singing to his tune.

As a testament to his low-profile life, the singer got married over the summer in a very private wedding with no friends or family in sight. “Oh, it was terrific. We both have families from back east, and afterward, everybody said, ‘Why didn’t you tell us? We wanted to come!’” he joked. “They probably all would have, as long as I paid for the plane trip and the rooms.”
