Everywhere you look there’s a face of somebody who might not be feeling that familial connection at its strongest anymore. That’s according to John Stamos, who feels there’s something intangible “missing” whenever the cast of Full House meets up following the death of Bob Saget.
Running from ’87 to ’95, Full House saw many of the younger actors grow up together, while the adults they could count as mentors forged lasting friendships amongst each other. But since Saget, known as Danny Tanner in the ABC sitcom, died suddenly last year, the TV family has not been the same – and it’s Saget, Stamos believes – who would have fixed everything.
Bob Saget kept the ‘Full House’ family together, says John Stamos
Stamos is opening up more than ever about his career in relationships following the release of his new memoir, If You Would Have Told Me. Speaking with People, Stamos admitted that Saget had been the beating heart gluing the Full House cast together.

As a result, it was also he who “got us all together” all those years after the show ended. “And now, it’s rare … you know, we’re not all together,” he continued. “I think there’s some dynamics going on with the cast that maybe, I think, Bob probably would’ve been the guy to come in and [fix things].”
Things are different yet the same, but not what outsiders might expect
On the battlefield of social media, TV sisters Candace Cameron Bure and Jodie Sweetin publicly dueled over differing political ideologies. It culminated in Sweetin denouncing Bure’s apparent dismissal of same-sex couples and Bure unfollowing Sweetin on social media.
Stamos did not name this incident outright as a fissure in the cast’s relationship that Saget would have healed. “I’m not going to do it. I’m not going to get in whatever’s going on,” he said instead. “It’s not what you think it is. I mean, I think there’s other things. But Bob was always the one. He was the glue. He would be there now.”
However, the TV family is still honoring the togetherness Saget would have wanted to maintain to this day. The seemingly estranged sisters reunited with their co-stars at ’90s Con recently in celebration of the shows that defined a generation. Additionally, Stamos assures that even though “something’s definitely missing,” they are “still just as close.”
