Following her son’s 18th birthday in September, Madonna has been spotted at her young boyfriend’s boxing matches, with her look at the event raising concerns. Fans pointed out a significant change in her appearance after a screenshot from the 65-year-old Queen of Pop’s Instagram live session made rounds on the internet.
The mother of six, who is known for her daring lifestyle as the life of the party, looked puffy around the cheeks and chin, with her lips appearing far from their usual plump and smooth state. “Her lips look painful,” an Instagram user remarked. Others also expressed their curiosity, wondering if Madonna was in good health.
Did Madonna get cosmetic work done?
Earlier this year, Madonna admitted to getting plastic surgery after fans called her out for looking different at the 65th Grammy Awards ceremony in Los Angeles. Although she did not explicitly state what kind of work she got done, the “Material Girl” singer took to Instagram to respond to the speculations.

“Look how cute I am now that swelling from surgery has gone down. Lol,” she joked, captioning a photo of herself in ripped jeans and a hat. In response to her latest videos, some people have advised the singer to “stop injecting’ her face. “She’s got the wrong doctor giving her filler in the wrong places – all that money, and she can’t get it right,” another added.
Back on the road
After an unfortunate hospital emergency that caused Madonna to suspend The Celebration World Tour in June, the singer is set to get back on the road this October. The tour will continue at the O2 Arena in London, with a four-night stint starting October 14 and then touching down in ten cities, including Copenhagen, Barcelona, Paris, and Milan.
The music legend has been eager to get back to performing since recovering, however, her management insisted on a full recovery before engaging in commitments. “Her health is improving, however, she is still under medical care. A full recovery is expected. At this time, we will need to pause all commitments, which includes the tour,” her manager, Guy Oseary, wrote on Instagram at the time.
The tour seeks to celebrate her 40th year in music with a possible release of a new single from her. She shared her photos from rehearsals in September, showing off her fit and the work behind the scenes. “Rehearsal photo dump,” she captioned the carousel.
