Mark Hamill Celebrates 72nd Birthday With Special Gift For His Fans

Mark Hamill, who is widely known for playing Luke Skywalker in the Star Wars franchise, recently celebrated his 72nd birthday in a special way with his fans. The actor posted a photo collage of his birthdays over the years side-by-side with a photo of him now.

To further convey his message and detail his growth over the years, the actor added a text layer on top of the image: for the picture showing his growth phase, he wrote “A Long Time Ago,” while for the recent photo, the text reads “Much More recently,” before finally captioning the post, “For Me,” and adding a cake emoji.

Mark has spent over five decades creating memories for his fans in the entertainment industry. He started his acting career with a recurring role on the soap opera General Hospital before starring in other TV series and films like The Bill Cosby Show, The Patridge Family, Room 222, One Day at a Time, and most notably, his appearance on the Star War franchise.

“Happy Birthday!! You brought me some much joy over the years,” a fan wrote. “I hope your day is awesome. Keep shining on like a lightsaber.” Another fan commented, “Happiest of birthdays to you, Mark. And thank you. For all you’ve done and continue to do.”

A user also reminisced on their Star Wars experience while paying tribute to Hamill. “Happy Birthday! Mark, Thank you for bringing so much joy to the lives of my family,” they wrote. “In 1977, while in High School, I stood in line at the Avco Theater in Westwood to see one of the greatest films ever made, Star Wars, and the rest is history, and you were at the center.”
