Tom Wopat, who is widely recognized for his iconic portrayal of Luke Duke in the popular TV series The Dukes of Hazzard, recently celebrated his 72nd birthday. Beyond his television success, Tom Wopat ventured into Broadway, where he showcased his talents. He graced the stages of renowned musicals like Annie Get Your Gun and 42nd Street, earning critical acclaim for his performances and demonstrating his prowess as a versatile actor with a strong musical inclination.

However, in 2017, Wopat faced a significant setback when he was embroiled in legal troubles. He was arrested and charged with multiple serious offenses, including indecent assault and drug possession, in Massachusetts.

The actor pleaded not guilty to the allegations and was granted a $1,000 bail. Wopat’s representative released a statement to address the allegation while stating the actors’ commitment to clear his name. “Mr. Wopat urges everyone to keep in mind that these are allegations; he’s alleged to have improperly touched an adult female performer during rehearsal in the presence of the entire cast and directing staff,” the representative admitted. “Tom has faith that the truth will be revealed and his good name will be restored.”
