Joan Collins Says She Will “Never Get Over” Death Of Her Younger Sister Jackie

Dame Joan Collins’s sister, Jacqueline Jill Collins, died a few weeks before her 78th birthday in 2015 after battling breast cancer. Jacqueline, who was a prominent writer, had received a stage-4 breast cancer diagnosis over six years before her eventual death/. However, she chose to carry this heavy burden in solitude, confiding in only a select few, including her sister, Dame Joan.

As the anniversary of Jacqueline’s death approaches, Dame Joan Collins takes a moment to reflect on the profound void left by her sister’s absence.

In an interview with Woman’s Weekly, Collins openly shared the depth of her grief, expressing that she will never fully overcome the loss of her beloved younger sister, Jackie.

“I miss our long, gossipy phone calls and letters. Losing your younger sister is not something you get over, it’s something you learn to live with,” she revealed. “I’ll pay tribute to her same way I pay tribute to her daily. By remembering her fondly and staying close to her daughters and grandchildren.”

Joan Collins says her new book, ‘Behind the Shoulder Pads,’ will give insights into her life experiences

The 90-year-old is set to unveil her forthcoming autobiography Behind the Shoulder Pads later this month. She disclosed that her new book will be a luminous beacon illuminating the deeply personal stories that have shaped her extraordinary life. “Based on my life lessons, I hope I’m teaching them self-sufficiency and hard work,” Collins told Woman’s Weekly. “They’ve all learnt it from the looks of it. I’ve had many amazing adventures in Hollywood and beyond.”

Collins stated that she hopes Jacqueline’s story will resonate with most of her readers. “But some stories, I have only ever shared with my friends,” she added. “After all, you’ve got to have a bit of mystery, so I hide a knowing smile behind my shoulder pads, hence the title of my book. That is, until now!”
