Shortly after being compelled to cancel his performance at the Power Trip Festival in California in October, Ozzy Osbourne revealed that he has constantly endured pain. Due to his ongoing health battles, the Power Trip Festival was projected to be his comeback show because the singer has not had any gigs in the last five years.
The 74-year-old musician’s health has taken a hit over the years, becoming a concern for Ozzy and his fans. Osbourne had earlier been diagnosed with Parkinson’s in 2003 and also had a surgical procedure to address the spinal and neck injuries he sustained from a 2003 quad biking accident. Recently, he underwent a medical intervention to have a filter extracted from his artery.
In an open and honest conversation on his SiriusXM channel show Ozzy Speaks, the former Black Sabbath frontman shared an update about his health.
“I’m battling through, like, for instance, last Monday, I went to have a filter removed. When I had the blood clots in my legs, they put a filter in your artery to stop the blood clots going to your heart and your brain,” Osbourne explained. “It sounds worse than it is. So, on Monday I went to have it removed. The blood clots have jammed you all up. It’s just disappointment after disappointment. Just get this thing f****** done so I can go get on with my life.”
Osbourne also revealed that since his health battle began, he has experienced persistent pain regularly over the years. However, the 74-year-old disclosed that he has been coping with the pain because he is still keen on continuing his music career.
“I feel like a one-legged man in a butt-kicking contest. The only thing I’ve got that keeps me going is making records. But I can’t do that forever,” Osbourne confessed. “I gotta get out there. I’m still in constant pain. I do the best I can to stay away from the pain medication.”
