Julia Roberts’ Lookalike Daughter, Hazel, Is All Grown Up In Newly Surfaced Photos

Hollywood sweetheart and mother of three Julia Roberts prefers to keep her personal life off the spotlight, albeit she recently shared a photo of her eldest daughter— Hazel, on her Instagram page. The 19-year-old, who looks much like Julia, was born through IVF in November 2004.

Hazel now attends college at The State Berkeley University in California, and like her celebrity mother, she has a flair for acting. She has featured in an episode of VH1 All Access show 20 Cutest Celebrity Babies and worked alongside her brother in Julia’s 2016 romantic comedy Mother’s Day.

Although Julia ensures to keep her children safe from the public eye and tabloids, Hazel has made a few public appearances. The teenager made her red carpet debut in 2021 at the Cannes Film Festival for the premiere of Flag Day. She was accompanying her dad, Daniel Moder, who was present as he was the cinematographer of the premiering movie.

“I mean, it’s just sweet, just the innocence. She’s just with her dad. It’s not about anything else,” Julia told CBS News, referencing her daughter’s first red-carpet experience. She also commented on Hazel’s dress, that she considered it too casual. “We were Facetiming, actually, right before they went out. I said, ‘Oh, are you ready?’…Like, she didn’t really look ready to me, you know, ponytail? And I was, like, ‘Hmm, little eyeliner?” Julia narrated.

Having celebrity parents and family members like Uncle Eric Roberts and cousin Emma Roberts, it would hardly be a surprise if Hazel goes into acting. Julia has been supportive of her daughter, letting her appear in her movie, and is open to enrolling Hazel in acting classes. Also, rather than spoiling them because of their celebrity status, Julia says she is teaching them to live independently.

In one of her interviews, Julia mentioned that she teaches her kids to make their beds, do laundry, cook, and do basic chores. She also places restrictions on Hazel and her siblings’ social media and TV exposure. The 55-year-old also strikes a balance by letting her kids enjoy privileges like travel, being on set with her and experiencing multiple cultures.
