Gary Busey recently took to Instagram to share the joyous moments from his 79th birthday celebration with his family members. The actor posted a heartwarming photo featuring himself with a beaming smile, his children, and his grandchildren posing together in front of the birthday cake.

In the photo, Busey seems to be enjoying the happiness and love from his loved ones for celebrating the new milestone with him. “I had such a great time celebrating my 79th #birthday last night with my children,” he wrote in the caption.

In December 1988, the actor had a fatal motorbike accident when he fell off his Harley Davidson motorcycle, which resulted in him having a subdural hematoma. He was promptly rushed to the hospital, where he had emergency surgery.

During an interview in April 2022, the 69-year-old opened up about his experience after his accident. He stated that he had a divine encounter. “I went off the bike without a helmet, hit my head into a kerb, split my skull, passed away after brain surgery, and went to the other side – the spiritual realm where I got information,” Busey confessed. “I was surrounded by angels. Balls of light floating all around me. And I felt trust, love, protection, and happiness like you cannot feel on earth. It’s the feeling the angels live in.”

The Under Siege actor has been married twice throughout his life. His first marriage was to actress Judy Helkenberg, and they were together for a period of 22 years, from 1968 to 1990, during which they welcomed their son Jake Busey. Following the end of his first marriage, Busey tied the knot with actress Tiani Warden. However, their union lasted only five years before they divorced.

Also, the actor had his second child, a daughter, Alectra, who pursued a career in photography with actress Tracy Hutchinson. Busey also welcomed a son Luke Sampson Busey, with actress Steffanie Sampson.
