Joan Collins, who is known for her candidness, recently expressed her views on the changes that have occurred in the entertainment industry. She stated that Hollywood has undergone a negative transformation, and the glitz and glamour of the industry have diminished due to the prevalence of cancel culture in the modern era.

In a recent interview with Best magazine, Collins argued that the cultural shift has had a noticeable impact on star-studded parties and the overall atmosphere of the entertainment industry. “The parties I go to now are kind of… dull,” the 90-year-old admitted. “They are red carpet things in which everybody does behave. If you don’t behave now, you are going to get canceled.”

During an interview with The New York Times in March of 2022, the actress revealed that there has been an unfair backlash towards males in the wake of the movement against sexual misconduct and abuse. “Sadly, I think that now young men are suffering from being labeled toxically masculine because of this rise of anti-maleness,” Collins noted.

The Dynasty actress also stated that she considers herself a feminist and does not appreciate using gender-neutral terms to describe herself. “I believe that women are equal to men in every single way, except physical strength. People say you didn’t burn your bra, you wear lipstick. So what? I’m very proud of being a woman,” she confessed. “What’s wrong with ‘actress’? What’s wrong with ‘mother’? What’s wrong with ‘woman’? ‘Girl’? I don’t like having that word taken away.”

Dame Collins says she doesn’t engage in social media discussions

The 90-year-old further shared that she abstains from social media engagements, she explained that she deliberately avoids participating in any online discussions. In an interview with The Sunday Times in 2021, Collins revealed that her primary concern stems from the fear that her words might be misinterpreted or manipulated if taken out of context.

“I don’t want to engage in any way, shape, or form with these morons,” she told the news outlet. “People can’t say what they think, because they’ll get canceled. Dredging up tweets from 15 years ago, about what somebody might have said when they were 14, I think that’s sick.”
