Vanna White Reportedly Asking For Pay Raise In Order To Continue On ‘Wheel of Fortune’

Major changes are soon coming to Wheel of Fortune, as longtime host Pat Sajak recently announced his retirement, which will take effect after the show’s upcoming 41st season ends in 2024. Also, there has been much discussion about the future of Vanna White, the esteemed co-host who has been an integral part of the show since 1982.

Her presence has become inseparable from Wheel of Fortune, much like Sajak, leading to conjecture that she may also choose to retire alongside him. However, recent reports suggest that the 66-year-old is currently engaged in discussions to continue her role on the show if her conditions are met.

Currently, the co-host earns approximately $3 million per year for her role on the show. Although it is a substantial amount, it is notably lower compared to the reported salary of host Pat Sajak, which is said to be five times higher.

It was reported that White has recently enlisted the services of a dynamic new attorney in her pursuit of a salary increase. This development arises amid ongoing discussions regarding her potential extension beyond the conclusion of her current agreement, which is set to expire at the end of the 2023-24 season.

Vanna White says she loves Wheel of Fortune’

The TV personality had previously revealed that hosting Wheel of Fortune has been very pleasurable for her. “I cannot believe it’s been 40 years,” White admitted. “Honestly, I’ve loved every minute of’ it. Who still says they love their job after 40 years? Me! I really do. It’s a fun show. Everybody watches and enjoys it and it changes people’s lives and it makes people happy. So it’s a great job.”

Also, in an interview with PEOPLE, she expressed her thoughts about her and co-host, Pat Sajak stepping away from Wheel of Fortune. “We’re like Ken and Barbie, you know?” she confessed to the news outlet. “We’ve been in everybody’s homes for 40 years, so it would be weird having somebody else turn my letters.We’re a team, that’s depressing. I don’t even want to think about it.”
