Recently, Hollywood icon Clint Eastwood marked his 93rd birthday. In the spirit of celebration, Arnold Schwarzenegger, a close friend and admirer, expressed his heartfelt tribute to the legendary director, whom he considers both a mentor and a tremendous source of inspiration.
The Terminator star took to Instagram to wish his long-time friend a happy birthday. “Happy birthday, Clint! You’ve inspired me, you’ve mentored me, and you’re a wonderful friend,” Schwarzenegger wrote in the caption alongside a photo of himself and the Oscar-winning actor/director skiing. “At 93, you prove that heroes don’t retire – they reload. You’re a legend.”
Over the years, Schwarzenegger has been vocal about his profound admiration of Eastwood’s remarkable career. In a 2011 interview with The Hollywood Reporter, he openly discussed his aspirations of following in the footsteps of the director.
“In the future, I have to adapt my roles to my age, Clint Eastwood also has done it in the same way. Extreme fighting or shooting is not possible anymore,” he confessed. “I want to be more encouraged as an actor, and I believe that I can manage this challenge. I am like a sponge, which is absorbing all the knowledge and always be willing to learn all new things.”
